UEH Standard Programs

 

The Agribusiness program trains the knowledge, skills and competencies to do business in the rapidly growing agri-food industry. This is an ideal preparation for management positions of companies that require human resources that are consumer-centric, commercially savvy, innovative, internationally oriented and technically competent. . Students are equipped with fundamental knowledge in economic analysis, business strategy, finance, marketing, human resource management and technology, food value chain, purchasing and exporting agricultural products. Students are also equipped with research skills, critical thinking and problem solving skills, communication, teamwork, informatics and foreign languages. In addition, students will also be trained in self-reliance, lifelong learning and responsibility, ethics towards the community and the environment. After graduation, students can work in the sales, marketing, supply chain, purchasing, project, investment or import-export departments of manufacturing and trading companies in the field of agriculture food.

PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES
1. Knowledge:
  • Understand the fundamental concepts and principles of management, economics, marketing and finance in agribusiness.
  • Apply learned knowledge to manage agribusiness activities and projects in the digital era.
  • Integrate business functions, concepts and perspectives from many different areas in the curriculum and in life.

2. Skills:

  • Collect, analyze and organize information and ideas, and communicate ideas clearly and fluently in oral and written form.
  • Work effectively with others in diverse groups toward a common outcome.
  • Use English fluently in business communication and consult professional documents (TOEIC 500).
  • Use information and communication technologies effectively and appropriately in study and work (IC3).
  • Identify, extract, analyze and evaluate information from a variety of sources; conduct research in agribusiness.
  • Apply critical, practical and creative thinking to analyze and critique arguments or situations; solve problems or make decisions; generate new ideas, products or perspectives.

3. Level of autonomy and responsibility

  • Interact more effectively with self and others (responsibility to self and society), and be friendly with the natural environment.
  • Show passion for agribusiness to develop new interests, feelings and values for self and society.
  • Develop capacity for independent learning and lifelong learning to enhance knowledge and skills for self and society.

In addition to the above output standards, graduates meet the output standards of foreign language ability, informatics, physical education, and defense education as follows:

  • Having foreign language ability level 3/6 Vietnam's Foreign Language Competency Framework, reaching TOEIC 500
  • Obtained IC3 (Internet and Computing Core Certification)
  • Obtain a Certificate of Physical Education
  • Obtain a certificate of National Defense Education
CAREER DEVELOPMENT
 

Students majoring in Agricultural Economics are trained in the following jobs:

  • At the enterprise level: as an expert in the production, trading, import and export enterprises of agricultural products, able to perform professionally in the units of the Market Research Department; Production room; Prevention plan; Business Department; Import-export department.
  • At the local level: Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development, Departments of Science and Technology of Provinces and Cities; Economic Departments of districts.
  • At the central level, Universities, Research Institutes, Ministries.
