UEH Standard Programs

 

UEH's Hospital Management program prepares learners to:

  • A solid knowledge base about the health care system in Vietnam and the world in general
  • Learners understand how a hospital works, from which they can apply basic management skills to run the hospital effectively such as human resource management, accounting analysis hospital finance, information system management, drug supply chain at the hospital, building a marketing communication strategy to position the brand for the hospital.
  • Learners develop a unique understanding of the managerial thinking of business executives in the medical and healthcare sectors;
  • Personal skills important for adapting quickly in new environments;
  • Cognitive competencies to solve problems or make effective decisions in hospital management;
  • Learners have a growth mindset and a spirit of lifelong learning to become an excellent administrator in the management of hospitals or medical institutions..
CURRICULUM
 
PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES
1. Knowledge:
  • Understanding and being able to apply basic knowledge of management, strategy, human resource management, operations, financial analysis, and marketing communication to hospital administration activities.
  • Analyze and coordinate well the functions of planning, organizing, leading and controlling in hospital administration
  • Analyze and explain the effects of economic, legal, and technological institutions on hospital management decisions
  • Ability to apply new technologies in management work through simulation practice, course projects, dissertations, internships at hospitals and scientific conferences.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of health management, health care system; knowledge of ethics and social responsibility in hospital management activities

2. Skills:

  • Ability to apply management skills including: leadership skills, management through the process of leading the team, teamwork, time management and decision-making in running the hospital, facility medical.
  • Ability to plan operations, economic and financial planning, and use specialized software to effectively plan resources in the field of hospital management
  • Demonstrate effective communication/communication skills through reports (speaking and writing, individual/group presentations), conveying messages related to business ideas, promoting products and services , projects at healthcare organizations.
  • Practice proficiently the skills of searching, organizing, classifying, evaluating, using and managing information (information competence); collecting, analyzing and interpreting data (quantitative thinking); Organize and coordinate various jobs in hospital management.
  • Use appropriate thinking skills (critical thinking, practical thinking, creative thinking) to solve problems, make decisions or propose new ideas.
  • Ability to practice proficiently new technologies and use enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to master business administration activities, IC3 (Internet and Computing Core) computer skills Certification) and demonstrate English skills (achievement of TOEIC 500 certificate)

3. Level of autonomy and responsibility:

  • Able to behave independently or as an active member of a team.
  • Demonstrate self-responsibility to themselves and to stakeholders in the learning process through compliance with assessments and regulations of the training program.
  • Demonstrate the ability to analyze to have professional opinions, make their own professional judgments and assign work, supervise the work performance of others in the team.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan in which to reflect specific goals, implementation process, budget, check, monitor and plan to adjust yourself to suit your goal orientation.
  • Appreciate ethical values and act to combat ethical violations in the work environment.
  • Demonstrating self-control, self-positive self of a lifelong leaner through the process of self-updating knowledge, self-assessment and self-development.

In addition to the above output standards, graduates meet the output standards of foreign language ability, informatics, physical education, and defense education as follows:

  • Having foreign language ability level 3/6 Vietnam's Foreign Language Competency Framework, reaching TOEIC 500
  • Obtained IC3 (Internet and Computing Core Certification)
  • Obtain a Certificate of Physical Education
  • Obtain a certificate of National Defense Education
CAREER DEVELOPMENT
 

Graduates of the Hospital Administration major are capable of taking on various positions starting from facility administrators to middle management positions in hospitals, clinics and medical institutions. such as: managers in charge of finance, human resources, public relations, supply management, service quality, treatment and healthcare system operations.
