University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) welcoming and working with the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS)

On December 15, 2023, at Campus A - 59C Nguyen Dinh Chieu, District 3, a working session took place between the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) and the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS). This was an activity within the framework of the series to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Vietnam - Netherlands Program (VNP). The Vietnam - Netherlands Program is an international cooperation program in education that aims to improve the quality of higher education and research in Vietnam through academic exchange and cooperation. The meeting served as a platform for both organizations to discuss achievements and challenges, and to explore new collaboration opportunities.

Attending the meeting, on behalf of UEH, there was the presence of Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - Director of UEH; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trong Hoai - Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Asian Business and Economic Studies (JABES); Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Phong Nguyen - Head of Department of Scientific Management - International Cooperation; Mr. Vo Duc Hoang Vu - Deputy Head of Department of Scientific Management - International Cooperation; Mr. Le Thanh Nhan - Vice Dean of the School of Economics, and lecturers from units under the College of Economics, Law and Government. On the ISS side, there were Prof. Ruard Ganzevoort - Director of ISS and Assoc.Prof. Matthias Rieger - VNP Program Coordinator. Prof. Ruard Ganzevoort, representing the ISS Institute, presented his views on the achievements and impacts of VNP on the academic and social development of Vietnam and the Netherlands.

Overview of the meeting

Throughout the meeting, Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - Director of UEH and Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trong Hoai - Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Asian Business and Economic Studies, along with lecturers and researchers in many fields, shared their experiences and achievements that they have drawn from the VNP program. UEH also emphasized the benefits of carrying out joint research projects, publishing articles in international journals, developing curriculum and teaching materials as well as organizing seminars and discussions. At the same time, UEH expressed the appreciation for ISS's support and guidance as well as its interest in expanding and deepening its cooperation with ISS.

Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh chaired the meeting lively and openly, creating conditions for participants to discuss many proposals to exploit opportunities to expand cooperation between the two organizations. The discussion focused on new joint programs, research projects, and ways to strengthen and expand existing partnerships.
